We are excited to announce the launch of our much-anticipated bike packing trip! One, 2-day bike-packing event will now be included as part of the event package in the Pit Zone on April 1st.
This event will include instruction on packing your bikes, backcountry camping, Leave No Trace principles, trip planning, navigating, route finding, backcountry safety plus much more. Instruction will take place on-the-bike as we ride around Lake Hope State Park, enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the Zaleski State Forest in the valley of Big Sandy Run.
This is a 2-day (one night) trip where each day will cover roughly 18 miles through some of the most beautiful terrain southeast Ohio has to offer.
We will ride primarily on gravel roads and bike paths while camping at the Lake Hope State Park Campground. Depending on how everybody’s legs feel we can add some additional mileage with morning singletrack from camp.
The Event Package covers registration for this event. A separate $0 registration is available for this camp in the Pit Zone so that we can reach out to the riders and families who plan on participating directly.
If you have bike packing equipment, great! If you don't, no worries: we'll do our best to borrow the equipment needed so you'll have an amazing adventure. Please don't feel like you need to buy a bunch of gear: we've got your covered.
From Un-Supported where you carry all your equipment and food on your bike to Fully-Supported where you only carry water & food, we'll have support options to get your camping gear where you need it!
